GIMSTEINN

Magical nature, glaciers and hot springs are certainly the first things that come to mind about Iceland. And fjord landscapes, volcanoes and waterfalls. Maybe also Icelandic horses and grazing flocks of sheep? All of this inspired Johanna to design this beautiful and practical dress, with lovely jewels sparkling on the hem and hem. Gimsteinn is a gem in the Icelandic language.

The dress is nice to wear with leggings. You can go on a ski run with it in the cold spring weather, or you can sit with it in the warmth of the fireplace and drink a cuppa with a good friend. It's an incomparable piece of clothing for every moment!

Gimsteinn is quick to knit. Like many Icelandic knits, the sleeves are knitted first, then the cuffs, and finally the yoke, which joins them together to form a finished garment. You can choose from two different hem widths. You can also influence the design with decorative braids on the waist or by leaving them out. In the dress itself, the front and back pieces are the same, so you can wear it either way. You can easily succeed with this instruction!

Istex Léttlopi 50g/100m and 80 cm circular needles and double pointed needles 4.5 mm or by handwriting to obtain the given density . More detailed materials can be found in the attached pictures.

Density : 20 s / 10 cm Note . Be careful with the knitting density, because the difference of even a couple of stitches affects not only the width of the work but also e.g. to the height of the arch!
